My music is killing me

Uncategorized • 24.08.2010 | posted by Edy

Robyn is a Swedish song-writer. I start following her after meeting Andreas Kleerup in a party in the Trellick Tower (I’ve only recently found out that he named one of his tracks after this building). He produced one of her songs a few years ago. Since then I sometimes listen to Robyn’s electro-cheesy-pop, which I find quite contagious and fun. A visit to her website today made me discover an amazing piece of flash animation that is also her latest video. It’s an interactive animation with a retro 3D effect. At the end of the tune the animation is fed from twitter and Facebook streams. Have a look it’s quite cool!

Got Milk?

It’s the best desk out there, it has all you want: from cable management to gold fish tank! Of course it’s pricey, but think about it: you spend as much time at your desk then you do in your bed ! It’s gonna be worth it!

Etch your books…

Most of us owns a Moleskine, a few of us has a etched one. I love this laser engraving or etching technique. You can precisely engrave most of the objects you own. Here is a small selection of what I like. Cool?! See my next post for another kind of etching… See more here:

I’m researching on films that can decorate your gadgets without interfering with the functionality of trackpad or touchscreen. This company does the job: you can choose from an existing library of designs or simply upload your own. You’ll be able to create a personalised sticker perfectly cut to fit the wrist rest of your Macbook or just the trackpad. You won’t need professional skills to apply it. See more here:

Architecture, design • 03.07.2010 | posted by Edy

Thanks to an old friend of mine Salyawate Prasertwitayakarn, the MD of Atelier of Architects based in Bankok, I’m excited to show you a sneak preview of an amazing project.
It’s the headquarters for Body Glove Thailand based around the slogan “protect the core”. It features a showroom, office space and warehouse. The design comes from the idea of fluidity, continuity, futurist due to the extreme contrast between the interior and exterior.

Unto This Last is the title of a book written in 1860 by John Ruskin. He advocated a return to the local craftsman workshops, having a few doubts about the human cost of the Industrial Revolution. It’s also the name of a workshop that produce beautiful pieces of furniture using only plywood and no mechanical accessory using a digital router. Their products are dispatched in London without boxes to cut down costs and pollution. They are easy to assemble, affordable, and beautiful.

I suggest you to go visit their amazing workshop in Brick Lane, East London. Or just enquire online here:

World cup and shelves

London, design • 01.07.2010 | posted by Edy

I’ve been looking for a well designed World cup calendar. I finally found one! It’s not too late. The author is a London based design company, I love their stuff and website. I also love their offices, in particular the shelving system seamlessly integrated in the plaster. I’m thinking of using that for my shelves on the side of the fireplace!
